Just holding each other and swaying to the music is nice, but it is fun to add some structured steps to your dancing. Traditionally, the waltz was often used for a couples' first dance. The gentle swaying feeling of waltz fits well with love, romance, and weddings. But the tune you love the most may not be a waltz. For example, it would be totally wrong to try to dance waltz to, say, Because You Loved Me.
